Description
Our client is a global HR Consulting firm who is in search of a Senior Benefits Manager. This position will be responsible for the management of the firm's US benefit programs including retirement plans, health & welfare plans as well as administrative compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The position reports directly to the firm's Benefits Director. Potential to fill the Benefits Director position in the future will be a consideration in the selection process.
The selected candidate must be accustomed to functioning in a highly matrixed environment as he/she will need to develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate unit leaders and business leaders, as well as strong collaborative relationships with internal staff and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the relationship with outside pension plan administrators and ensure they are properly interpreting and administering the plans;
- Identify and evaluate key financial indicators related to health care costs and report findings to senior management;
- Participate in the design of both retirement and health & welfare plans;
- Select and effectively manage outsourced vendors by developing and implementing well defined service level agreements for each vendor;
- Develop material for an on-line knowledge base for benefit plan provisions to be used by both plan participants and administrators;
- Participate in the strategic development of benefits consistent with the company's rewards philosophy;
- Partner with Marketing and other HR leadership in the development of employee communication materials;
-Participate in the management of international plans as needed.
Requirements
- At least 10 years work experience, including progressive experience in benefit plan design, management and compliance;
- Knowledge of fundamental issues surrounding health and welfare programs including financial planning and analysis;
- Extensive knowledge of ERISA and other benefit related laws and regulations required;
- Extensive experience in vendor management, relationships, and financial oversight of outsourcing agreements;
- Strong risk management, analytical and financial skills;
- Business acumen; ability to learn quickly about global businesses and related strategic growth and profit drivers
- Ability to work across a range of interpersonal styles
- Strong oral presentation, listening and influence skill
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or other related field
- Exposure to international benefit programs a plus.
