COCC is currently seeking a qualified Software Developer to join our Systems and Programming department. The successful candidate will design and program special requests, enhancements, conversions and defect repairs for our customers. We’re looking for a flexible team-player with a positive attitude and basic programming knowledge.
Job Responsibilities:
• Designs and codes solutions for special requests, enhancements, conversions and defects
• Handles all code changes and/or corrections and makes library code changes as needed
• Tests all code changes and troubleshoots system issues
• May prepare sizing/work estimates for assigned enhancements
• Assists in testing functionality and researches any issues discovered
• Handles internal and external inquiries concerning existing and/or new functionality
• May train internal staff on application changes or functionality of enhancements
• Assists internal departments with writing release notes and system documentation
• Prepares project status reports
Position Requirements:
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science
• Ability to work with and understand confidential information such as product development methods and access to view and change customer databases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work successfully both as a team member and independently
• Must be a self starter who is attentive to detail, resourceful and highly organized
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality
• Have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Some weekend work required and some weeks require work over 40 hours
Technical Requirements:
• Knowledge of programming languages
• Knowledge of OO concepts
• Knowledge of relational database concepts
